Pioneer wins drone supply contract for WA Police

Lane Cove-based Pioneer Defence has been awarded a significant contract to supply and deliver cutting-edge “drone in a box” technology to the Western Australia Police. The contract, designated WAPOL182223, was granted by the Western Australian government and spans three years, with an option for a two-year extension.

Pioneer Defence’s drones feature advanced artificial intelligence, thermal imaging, and real-time communication capabilities, ensuring they meet the high demands of modern policing. The system includes a docking station equipped with battery-swapping technology for continuous operation, and the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed for all-weather conditions and remote management.

The Pioneer S22 UAV, which is part of this contract, boasts vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities, a range of up to 1,000 kilometers, and a payload capacity of up to 150 kg. This versatility allows seamless integration across various sectors, including police, defense, fire services, surf lifesaving, logistics, and more.
